Dr Andre Philip Pettemerides

André Philip Pettemerides (Philip) graduated with a BDS from the University of Sheffield in 1976. Since then, he has gained extensive experience in restorative, aesthetic and implant dentistry. His clinical interests include immediate loading of implants, aesthetic restorative cases, computer‑guided placement, Nobel Guide and the All‑on‑4 concept.

He has achieved the Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma in Implant Dentistry with distinction from the Eastman Dental Institute at the University of London. He has continued his postgraduate education in France, Malta, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland and the USA.

In addition to his clinical work, Phillip maintains an active academic interest and has published articles in scientific journals, including the British and European Journals of Orthodontics.

Annie

Originally from Bournemouth, Annie moved to the area to study Dentistry at the University of Bristol and has lived and worked in Somerset since graduating in 2006. She joined College Street Dental in June 2020.

Annie has extensive experience as a general dental practitioner and is committed to providing patient‑centred care. Beyond general dentistry, she has a particular interest in minimally invasive aesthetic treatments. As part of this interest, she trained as an Invisalign provider in 2018, enabling her to offer clear aligner treatment suitable for short‑term orthodontic cases. She continues to develop her skills through ongoing training in this field.

Annie lives on the Mendip Hills with her husband and young children. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys a range of creative interests, including cooking, baking, sewing, knitting and interior design.

Hannah Smith

Hannah graduated with a BDS from the University of Manchester in 2008 and became a Member of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2012.

Her favourite aspect of dentistry is getting to know her patients and understanding their individual needs. She enjoys helping patients enhance their oral health and appearance in ways that can support their confidence. On a technical level, she has a particular interest in providing minimally invasive aesthetic restorations. She is a firm believer in the value of maintaining natural teeth wherever possible and the importance of preventing oral disease. She has also contributed to the “Healthy Gums DO Matter” initiative, which focuses on clear and practical oral hygiene advice.

Hannah prides herself on being accessible to her patients. She encourages questions and aims to ensure appointments feel relaxed and unhurried. As a team, the clinic is committed to providing a calm and positive environment for all patients.

Outside the practice, Hannah has a young family who keep her busy. They enjoy spending time outdoors and working in the garden. When she finds a quiet moment, she enjoys practising yoga and reading.

Mariana graduated with her dental degree (LMD) from the University of Porto in 2010. After working in Lisbon, she moved to the UK and has now been living here for more than ten years.

She developed an early interest in root canal treatments and in helping patients preserve their natural teeth. Over time, she has particularly enjoyed supporting patients in improving their oral health, comfort and function. She completed a Restorative Dentistry course in 2015 and continues to build her experience in this field.

Mariana aims to create a calm and supportive environment for her patients and encourages them to ask questions throughout their care.

She joined our team in January 2023 after relocating from Scotland to Somerset. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys being in nature and loves creating things—from crafts to gardening and baking. When she isn’t exploring the West Country, she enjoys travelling home to spend time with her family and her young niece.

Hesh was raised in Winchester and later relocated to Dubai to complete his dental degree. After graduating, he worked across the UK as a Dental Core Trainee in Southampton, Cardiff and Edinburgh, gaining experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry.

Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles and contributed to scientific publications in several areas of dentistry. He has a particular interest in surgical procedures and in providing clear aligner treatment such as Invisalign. He is committed to building strong, supportive relationships with his patients and providing patient‑centred, evidence‑based care.

Outside of work, Hesh enjoys a wide range of sports including judo and tennis, and has a strong interest in travelling.

Lynsey-Jayne Fulton

Born in Northern Ireland but a Bristol resident for the past five years, Lynsey-Jayne graduated with a BDS from Queen’s University Belfast in 2018. She moved to Bristol to complete her foundation training at Keynsham Dental Care. After two years working as an Associate Dentist, she continued her training in the Maxillofacial Department at Gloucester Royal Hospital and later in Restorative Dentistry at Cardiff Dental Hospital. In 2023, she became a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of Edinburgh.

Lynsey-Jayne has a particular interest in minimally invasive aesthetic treatments. She became an Invisalign Go provider in 2020, enabling her to offer clear aligner treatment for suitable short‑term orthodontic cases. She continues to build her skills through ongoing training and professional development.

Outside of work, Lynsey-Jayne enjoys Pilates and tennis, as well as exploring everything the South West has to offer.

I graduated with my dental degree (LMD) from the University of Lisbon in 2011 and moved to Wales in 2013, where I worked as an associate dentist in NHS and private practices. In 2015, I moved to Bath and have since worked across the South Bristol and Wiltshire areas.

Over the last ten years, I have continued to develop my clinical skills by attending postgraduate courses in restorative dentistry, endodontics and periodontology. In 2018, I completed a postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Dentistry (DPDS) from the University of Bristol. In 2022, I completed training in dental implant placement and continue to develop my skills in this area through ongoing training.

I also provide clear aligner treatment, including Invisalign, and offer facial aesthetic treatments within my scope of practice, such as dermal fillers. (Botulinum toxin treatments can only be discussed following a clinical assessment.)

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, travelling and going on long walks with my two bulldogs, Lolly and Rita.

Suzy

Suzy Threadgold

During her training, Suzy’s received positive feedback on her communication skills and her supportive approach to anxious and phobic patients. She was presented with the British Society of Dental Hygiene & Therapy Student Award. She has continued to develop her skills in this area and greatly enjoys helping anxious patients feel more confident during their visits.

Suzy works closely with her patients to support good oral health through tailored treatment and clear oral hygiene education.

Alongside her clinical role, Suzy also teaches oral health care in residential homes for elderly and vulnerable adults, providing guidance to caregivers on the importance of daily oral hygiene.

Before training as a Dental Hygienist, Suzy worked at Bristol Dental Hospital conducting research into head and neck cancer, during which time she completed an MSc.

Rebecca

Becky has been working within the field of dentistry since 2009. She began her career as a Dental Nurse after completing her diploma and gaining experience with the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses. She later gained further experience by assisting clinicians during dental implant procedures.

Recognising her strong interest in the prevention of oral diseases, Becky completed her degree in Oral Health Sciences at the University of Essex and has been practising as a Dental Hygienist since 2017. She enjoys keeping up to date with research and professional guidance on gum disease management and has a particular interest in the links between oral health and general health.

Outside of work, Becky enjoys gardening and spending time with her little boy, her rescue dog Ralph, and her four guinea pigs and cat.

Zoe has worked in dentistry for over 25 years and joined Portman Healthcare in 2013 as dual site manager, overseeing the Maidenhead and Henley practices. She relocated to Somerset with her family in late 2017 and transferred to the College Street team in the summer of 2018.

In her spare time, Zoe enjoys spending time with her young family, walking the dogs and exploring the South West coast.

Jo

Jo Bissett

Jo has worked in dentistry since 2010, entering the profession after being inspired by her sister, who is also a dental nurse. She worked in Weston for five years before joining the College Street team in December 2015.

She has completed further training in clinical skills such as impression‑taking, fluoride application, plaque scoring and Oral Health Education. Jo enjoys working alongside our Specialist Periodontist Dom and assisting Philip during implant procedures.

Outside of work, Jo enjoys spending time with her son Cole, her wider family, hunting for bargains in charity shops and watching football.

Carol

Carol began her dental career at the age of 16 and joined the College Street team in 1992. She works part time, providing cover across the nursing team and assisting clinicians during implant procedures.

Carol enjoys being part of the College Street team and the friendly, supportive environment within the practice.

Outside of work, she enjoys cryptic crosswords, painting, and travelling around Europe on the back of her husband’s motorbike.

Rowena

Rowena works alongside Hannah Smith and occasionally on the front desk.

Moira Bright Ed

Moira trained as a medical nurse at Southmead Hospital in 1980 and, after 20 years, decided to embark on a new path in dentistry. She gained her National Dental Nursing qualification at Bristol Dental Hospital and has since worked in and around the Weston area, building broad experience across a range of clinical settings.

She joined Portman in January 2021. As a Dental Nurse, Moira enjoys being part of a supportive team and helping to provide patient‑centred care. She describes the practice as a friendly and welcoming place to work.

Outside of work, Moira enjoys spending time with her family and taking part in line dancing.

Laurel Ed

Laurel joined the practice in July 2021 as a trainee dental nurse, having previously worked as a nursery teacher after leaving college. She enjoys working at the practice, developing new skills and assisting the dentist chairside.

Laurel qualified as a Dental Nurse in December 2023 and took some time to travel in Australia before returning to the practice. Since her return, she has trained to work on reception as well as in surgery, contributing to both clinical and administrative areas of the team.

Outside of work, Laurel enjoys travelling, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new places.

Charlotte

Charlotte (Lottie) Marcer

Charlotte joined College Street in May 2022. She has worked as a dental nurse for three years and enjoys supporting patients and getting involved in all aspects of clinical work.

Outside of work, Charlotte loves spending time with her husband, two daughters and their dog. She also enjoys singing, dancing and a bit of retail therapy.

Sue joined College Street Dental in 2023 following a long career in community oral health education. She qualified in 2003 and spent 20 years working across the South West, delivering a wide range of oral health programmes.

Her work has included supporting toothbrushing schemes and fluoride varnish initiatives for young children in Somerset. As part of a team, Sue received an award for “Teeth the Musical,” a collaborative project created with students at Bridgwater College to promote oral health awareness. She also has extensive experience supporting patients with additional needs and complex medical histories and in educating carers alongside dentists and dental therapists.

Outside of dentistry, Sue holds a diploma in hypnotherapy and has completed a nail technician course. She currently works alongside Mariana from Tuesdays to Thursdays.

Clancy joined the practice in 2023 and is brand new to dentistry. She is enjoying learning the role, developing new skills and assisting the dental team as she progresses through her training.

She has a strong interest in travel and wildlife, having spent time mountain trekking with gorillas in Uganda, volunteering with pandas in China and swimming with wild dolphins in New Zealand.

Clancy is looking forward to developing her career in dentistry and contributing to patient care within the local community.

Ami joined College Street Dental in 2025 and is currently enrolled in her dental nursing training programme. She comes from a customer‑service background and enjoys learning new clinical skills that support her studies and development within the practice.

Outside of work, Ami enjoys makeup, beauty and getting glammed up for special occasions. She also loves animals and previously studied equine science for three years before moving into dentistry.

Ami will continue her training until 2027, when she is expected to complete her Dental Nurse qualification.

Jeanette has been a receptionist at College Street Dental since June 2007, before that she spent 25 years working as a customer service adviser.

Jeanette is married with two grown up children and one dog. Her hobbies include reading, walking the dog and spending time with family and friends.

Kerry started working at College Street in the autumn of 2021. Kerry has joined us as part of our reception team and you will find Kerry in practice on a Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Kerry has a experience in customer facing roles and says that she is enjoying working in the practice and meeting new people. In her spare time, Kerry spends time with her two small children and enjoys day trips and visiting new places.

Lynne

Lynne Foster

Receptionist

Lynne & her husband moved from Birmingham to Burnham on Sea in June 2020 when her husband retired and they are both enjoying life by the seaside.

Lynne enjoys crocheting, cross stitch and socialising. She has five grandchildren, three boys and two girls and they all live in the West Midlands. Lynne has a small dog who is four years old and her name is Nuna. She is a Shihpoo cross between Shih Tzu and Toy Poodle and she is adorable. Lynne loves spending time with her taking her for walks. Lynne works on Saturdays with our hygienist, Becky, but sometimes is kind enough to cover mid-week too.
